YOUTH LEAGUE RULES
General Rules

SOCCER CLEATS are NOT permitted on any of the indoor fields, all players MUST wear TURF SOCCER SHOES. No Exceptions will be made.

All youth players must provide proof of age with their roster i.e.: MSYSA, US Club Soccer, TSA ID player card or State Identification card.

All players must be paid in full and registered on a roster to play on a team.

All plays must be conducted as set forth in the laws of the game as modified by this facility.

Total Soccer Arena reserves the right to change league and games schedules and days as it deems appropriate based on field and court availability.

League and player format

Highschool and up 5 v 5 plus goal keeper on Premier Field #1 or 2 - (60 x 27 yards)

U12 through U14 plus goal keeper on Premier Field #1 or 2 - (60 x 27 yards)

U7 through U10 5 v 5 plus the goal keeper on Medium Field #3 - (40 x 23 yards)

U6 - 4 v 4 without goal keeper on Mini Turf Field #4 - (30 x 11 yards)
Heading and Concussion Protocols

Players under the age of 18 will be allowed to play in adult leagues, with the approval and signature of their parent or Legal Guardian.

All teams and players in U11 and younger divisions are NOT allowed to head the ball in games or at practice.

RULE OF THE GAME U11 and younger: When a player deliberately heads the ball in a game, an indirect free kick (IFK) should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense. If the deliberate header occurs within the goal area, the indirect free kick should be taken on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the point nearest to where the infringement occurred. If a player does not deliberately head the ball, then the play should continue.

Limited heading in practice for players in Under-12 and Under-13 programs. More specifically, these players shall be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes of heading training per week, with no more than 15-20 headers per player, per week.

There will be circumstances in which individual consideration will apply. For example:

A 10-year-old playing at Under-12 should not head the ball at all.

A 11- or 12-year-old playing at Under-14 should abide by the heading restrictions in practice

Referees will enforce these restrictions by age group according to the specified rules.

Referees will not be assessing the age of individual players on the field; they will enforce the rules for the age group.
